Vienna Elite will be fielding a team of (11 or 12)*  skilled U15 players.  Our program is expected to be one of the most rigorous training programs in the Region.  The team is expected to be a competitive "CLUB" level team which will compete in selected multi-day tournaments and local AAU and CHRVA tournaments (Refer to tentative schedule below).

The U15 team is expected to practice twice per week.  During the training months of November and December as well as on non-tournament weekends from January thru May, the Club may also hold "Academy" which will focus on specific skills (i.e. serving, passing, setting, team defense etc). Academy will be run by special instructors or by Vienna Elite coaches.

* At the discretion of the club 1 or 2 "practice players" will be considered depending on the circumstances of the team.  Practice players will not participate in any matches or tournaments unless specifically called upon by the Head Coach. 

Yula Tamashiro (USAV IMPACT certified) has been playing volleyball for over 25 years. She has competed in and won various tournaments throughout Hawaii, Nevada, California, Texas, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, including women's 6s USAV sanctioned tournaments, women's and coed sand doubles tournaments, coed 6s and reverse coed 4s tournaments. She continues to compete in various tournaments and leagues in the DMV area throughout the year.

Yula's love of playing volleyball has finally transitioned to coaching. She is excited to be a part of the Vienna Elite coaching staff again this season having been the Asst Coach for U13F, U16L, U17L and Vienna 18's last season.  She is looking forward to guiding the younger generation in learning the sport, improving their game, becoming better athletes, and loving volleyball as much as she does. She believes that having strong work ethics, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and improve are the fundamentals of being successful in volleyball as well as life in general. Minh Nguyen-Christensen (USAV IMPACT Certified) was born in New Jersey and has been around volleyball in some form or another.  He started training as a beach player in middle school playing some tournaments throughout the time living in New Jersey.  He had played club volleyball for a few years and was a 4 year starter for the high school team in New Jersey.  He was captain his Junior and Senior year and was the South Jersey Times Player of the Year in boys volleyball for 2019. Recently graduated from Stevenson university with a Bachelors of  Science in Biology.  He played 4 years of college at Stevenson University and was also on the men’s inaugural Beach Volleyball team his Senior year. In the past few years Minh has also played volleyball in the form of 9man volleyball.
