Vienna Elite will field a team of (11)* highly skilled and motivated U16 players.  The team will consist of experienced club players seeking to participate in more competitive tournaments and who may be interested in being recruited for collegiate level of volleyball.  The team is expected to be a competitive "OPEN" level team which will compete in selected multi-day tournaments and local CHRVA tournaments (Refer to tentative schedule below).

The U16 team is expected to practice twice per week.  During the training months of November and December as well as on non-tournament weekends from January thru May, the Club may hold "Academy" which will focus on specific skills (i.e. serving, passing, setting, team defense etc).  Academy will be run by special instructors or by Vienna Elite coaches.

Our club strives to be the best club in Northern Virginia when considering competitiveness of teams, level of coaching, club fees, number of tournaments and overall access to court time.  Our players love to play volleyball and want to compete at a high level!

** At the discretion of the club 1 or 2 "practice players" will be considered depending on the circumstances of the team.

Tatyana Robinson has been playing volleyball for over 15 years starting her volleyball career at age 11 at Hickam Elementary School in Hawaii. Tatyana played volleyball recreationally during middle school while also exploring other sports. Tatyana played volleyball for Warner Robins High School in Georgia where she was a middle blocker. Her team won the County Championship her junior and senior year and she was selected as MVP both years. Tatyana was also selected to be apart of the All Area team among the other top players in the county. After the County Championships, her team went to state fighting hard making it to the Elite 8. While in high school she had the opportunity to represent the U.S as she traveled to Australia to participate in international tournaments with a variety of players throughout the United States. Her team won the tournament championship against the other countries, this was the best and most amazing experience. Throughout high school Tatyana also played travel volleyball for the Southern Strikers and Atlanta Boom in-between her school’s seasons.

After high school Tatyana received an athletic scholarship to play for Benedict College in South Carolina, coming in as a RS hitter. Throughout her collegiate career Tatyana trained hard at multiple positions becoming a utility player by her Junior year. At the end of her Senior year, Tatyana’s team placed third in the SIAC Championship tournament.  

Tatyana went on to be the Assistant Coach at Benedict College, coaching her team to third place in the SIAC Championship her first year. Tatyana had several players receive Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference. 

After coaching two years at the collegiate level, Tatyana moved to Virginia where she began coaching travel volleyball for ages 14/15. Tatyana also coached LYV league at the middle school Open 1 level and high school ages. Tatyana coached the Vienna Elite 16RS and 17L team in previous years.  She is excited to bring her knowledge, skills, and experience to the U17L team again this season.  Contact: tatyana.robinson@viennaelite.org

Daniel Kwack (USAV IMPACT certified) has been playing volleyball for over 25 years and has been coaching youth volleyball for the past 7 years.  He has had a long standing association with Chantilly Youth Association (CYA) and has coached a wide range of ages and levels, from recreation league to travel clubs. He is currently the head coach of JV volleyball team at Fairfax High School, his alma mater.  

Daniel believes in the importance of building and reinforcing fundamental skills and team communication.   Balancing intensity, focus and fun-factor during practices and matches is the key to a successful development of the players.  Contact: daniel.kwack@viennaelite.org
